Bees collect nectar from flowers to make honey. Nectar is a sugary liquid produced by flowering plants to attract pollinators like bees. Once collected, bees store the nectar in their stomachs and transport it back to their hive. There, worker bees break down the sugars and remove excess water by fanning the nectar with their wings, eventually converting it into honey. Pollen, which bees also collect, is used mainly as a protein source for feeding their young. Honey serves as a critical food source for bees, especially during winter months.
